8. How long is each tutoring session?
Each tutoring session is minimum one hour. We also recommend two hours minimum for private home tutoring.
9. What do you charge?
Our rates differ depending on the number of students and location. We also offer discount packages, which never expire, allow for uninterrupted tutoring, and unused hours are refundable. Off campus tutoring, in the comforts of your home or at a mutually convenient location, is at a slightly higher rate to compensate our tutors for traveling time and cost. Visit our rates and payment page for a complete chart and to purchase your first session.
10. How does billing work?
All sessions are prepaid by credit card, PayPal, or check only. You have the option of paying for as little or as many sessions as you wish. However, we recommend one of our discount packages for uninterrupted tutoring.
For the fastest and most convenient transaction, we recommend paying with credit card or PayPal through our secure online payment. Please visit our rates and payment page for details. If you would rather pay by check, please make your checks payable to “Bellaire Tutors” and mail to:

11. May I pay the tutor personally?
Sorry, you cannot pay the tutors personally. We do this to ensure that all payments are received and your unused sessions are transferable and refundable.
12. What is your refund policy?
Prepaid sessions may be refunded as long as the cancellations are notified to the tutor 24 hours before the scheduled tutoring session. Unused sessions can also be refunded in full within a year of the purchase date. Please note that for refunds on packages, the refundable amount is the difference between the package price and used hours at standard rates.
For example, consider our most popular package: the 10 hour on-campus package priced at $310. If seven hours are used, the refundable amount is the difference between the package price and the seven hours at the standard rate of $35:
$310 - ($35x7) = $65
13. What if I’m not happy with my tutor?
We do all we can to match you with a tutor who we feel best suits your academic needs. Most concerns can usually be resolved privately with the tutor. However, if a problem persists, please contact us immediately and every effort will be made to assign you a new tutor.
14. What if I need to cancel my session?
Sessions may be cancelled without penalty if the tutor is notified by phone or email 24 hours prior to the tutoring session, otherwise the tutor reserves the right to reschedule or tutor at the previously arranged time.
